Winfred E. Bellows

Buckland- Winifred E. (Brown) Bellows, 83, of Ashfield Rd., passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

Winifred was born in Montague, MA on August 11, 1928 the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Conant) Brown. She graduated from Flushing High School in Flushing, NY.

Winifred and her husband Ed raised nine children.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colrain, and was also a contributor to the Mary Lyon Church in Buckland. She enjoyed reading historical books, gardening, folk art painting, and crafts in general.

Survivors include seven sons, Ed N. Bellows, of Granger, IN, Richard G. Bellows, of Pagosa Springs, CO, Gary C. Bellows, of Rutland, MA, Dale B. Bellows, of Brighton, CO, Owen R. Bellows, of Dunbarton, NH, Kevin T. Bellows, of Plainfield, MA, Dennis P. Bellows, of Ashfield, MA, two daughters, Linda M. Grant, of Colrain, MA, Catherine L. Lilly, of Buckland, MA, fifteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Winnie's husband Ed, predeceased her on November 10, 1994.

A visiting hour for family and friends will take place Saturday, February 4 at 1:00 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Robert Peck, Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.
