Irving Mullette Obituary

Irving E. Mullette went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2024. He was born in North Adams, MA on April 23, 1938 to Eugene and (Vera) Christine Mullette.  Out of high school, he went to East Coast Aero Tech Flying School, following which he joined the Marine Corps.  He proudly remained involved in the Marine Corps League throughout his life and served as Chaplain of the Marine Corps League Oak Ridge Detachment.  Irving was a graduate of Northeastern Bible College, where he did street-preaching in Greenwich Village in the 1960’s.  Irving entered full time ministry in 1970, and was ordained in 1971.  He pastored three churches:  East Charlemont Bible Church 1970-1989, Rowe Community Church 1993-2024, and the Florida Baptist Church for a number of years.  Irving founded and was Head Master of the Charlemont Christian School from 1971-1988.  He was the chaplain of the Franklin County House of Correction in Greenfield for 50 years.  In addition to his full-time ministry work, he was a licensed contractor, building homes with his son Glenn, and producing numerous creative pieces he hand-crafted from wood.  Irving was dedicated to his Savior and spreading the gospel message.  He loved people and was most content when he was helping others.

On June 28, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Rosalyn Domin Mullette.  The couple was married for 65 years.  He was fiercely devoted to his wife and family.  Besides his loving wife Rosalyn, Irving leaves his children, Gwendolyn and her husband Bruce, Glenn and his wife Lisa, Rachel and her husband Keith, 8 grandchildren (Alysha, Laina, Angela, Keifer, Justin, Dylan, Katara and Elise), 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  He also leaves two sisters, Vera and Diane.  Irving was pre-deceased by his sister Gerda, and his daughter, Lori Ellen.

His funeral service will be Saturday, April 27 at 1pm at Faith Church, 331 Silver Street, Greenfield MA. 01301.  A time of fellowship with the family and light refreshments will immediately follow.

Donations may be given in Irving’s name to The Gideons International, Franklin County Camp, PO Box 973, Greenfield, MA 01302.
